Board of Commissioners
Charles Bevis, Chairman, is a life-long resident of Hardin County and senior vice-president of The Hardin County Bank. He previously served as General Manager of Tennessee Valley Electrical Cooperative, vice president of The Hardin County Bank, and was a member of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. Mr. Bevis is a graduate of Jackson State Community College and the University of North Alabama.
Kent Collier, Vice Chairman, is the owner of several McDonald's restaurants in West Tennessee. He currently serves on the boards of the Tennessee River Museum and the Friends of Shiloh National Military Park. Mr. Collier graduated from Ole Miss with a BBA in marketing.
David Long, Secretary, is the owner of an accounting firm in Savannah since 1989. Mr. Long has a BS degree from Christian Brothers University and worked with Price Waterhouse in both audit and taxation. He serves on a number of community boards—Team Hardin County, Hardin County Convention & Visitors Bureau, SunTrust Bank, and the Hardin County Board of Education.
Janet Lard Cromwell, M.D., is the Medical Staff’s appointee to the Board. Dr. Cromwell is a member of the facility’s Active Medical Staff and has been a member of the medical staff since 1985. She is a graduate of UT Martin and of the UT College of Medicine. Dr. Cromwell is an internal medicine specialist and owns her private practice, Complete Care, in Savannah.
Larry Hinton is a native and life-long resident of Hardin County. He holds a Bachelors Degree from UT Martin and is a paramedic with 15 years experience, currently employed by Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Hinton was an elected member of the Hardin County Commission for 12 years. During that time, he was an appointed advisor to the Hardin Medical Center Board for a number of years. Mr. Hinton has also served on the governing boards of a number of county organizations.
Jeffrey R. Woodside, M.D., resident of the Pickwick community, brings more than 25 years of healthcare and executive experience to the HMC Board. Dr. Woodside recently retired as the executive vice president and chief medical officer for UT Medical Group, the faculty group practice of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He still remains active as the chief medical officer for The Breakaway Group, a healthcare consulting firm located in Denver, Colorado, and as a member of the board of LifeWings Partners, LLC, a patient safety consulting firm in Memphis. Dr. Woodside received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, his medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School, and his M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Woodside also supports the local community by serving on the board of the Friends of Pickwick Landing State Park and on the advisory committee of the Hardin County Community and Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
