Ambulance Service
The Ambulance Service is Classified as a Class A Service and keeps ALS crews available for Emergency calls. The Ambulance Service also makes daily scheduled non-emergency runs that include: Dialysis, Doctor Appointments, Discharges and Admissions. The Ambulance service works in conjunction with the Fire Department to have a unit available for structure fires.
Some Equipment used in the Ambulance Service Include: Zoll 12-lead Cardiac Monitors, Drug Bags, Airway Bags, Pediatric Bags and C-spine immobilization Devices.
The Ambulance Service is involved with the Community By: EMS is involved in Career Day by going to our area schools and explaining to students the importance of EMS. They allow the students to tour the EMS vehicles. They also perform Car Seat Checkpoints throughout the year and will install those seats before a newborn is taken out of the hospital. The Service also teaches CPR and 1st Responder classes to the community. The 1st Responder class is taught by Larry McCasland and the CPR class is taught by Allen Henson. The Ambulance Service has also set up a Community Service Team which is made up of members of the Ambulance Service. The Ambulance Service is donating disposable spine boards to area 1st Responder Districts. This will speed up the process of C-spine immobilization and decrease scene time.
Stacey Wilson has been the Ambulance Service Director since June 6, 1997. Stacey received his Associate Degree in Paramedical Medicine from Jackson State Community College and his Bachelor's Degree in EMS Management from University of Tennessee at Martin. Stacey is an Instructor/Coordinator for the State of Tennessee, Affiliate Faculty with Americian Heart Association for ACLS, Affiliate Faculty in PHTLS, and Instructor in CPR and First Responder.
